Not-for-Profit

You want your Board informed with the necessary detail to provide clear oversight for the organization’s financial affairs. We will work closely with you and go beyond financial reporting. Our advisory services can help you make decisions and recommendations with confidence:

  • Advice on Board governance
  • Advice on compliance with government reporting
  • Advice on compliance with CRA rules and regulations
  • Risk Management and Internal Control Systems
  • Board education on current financial matters

For most not-for-profits an audit is required under the terms of Government contribution agreements. We audit more than fifteen local organizations and can assist with Ontario Government reporting requirements to any of the following departments:

  • Ministry of Health and Long Term Care
  • Ministry of Community and Social Services
  • Ministry of Children and Youth Services
  • Ministry of the Attorney General
  • Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (Formerly Training, Colleges and Universities)

As part of our audit process we meet with your Board annually to review the Financial Statements, report on our audit and make recommendations as required. In addition, we attend the Annual General Meeting to deliver our independent auditor’s report to your membership.

UNDERSTANDING • SERVICE • ACCURACY • EXPERTISE

As the Executive Director of a small not-for-profit organization, one of my responsibilities is seeing that we obtain the best professional advice and service possible. Ken has provided us with both for over twenty years. His team often goes above and beyond. I do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking accounting or auditing services. We rely heavily on the advice and services provided by Durand and Associates.
